I am glad the move went well. So sorry to hear about your Dad, although it sounds like he is OK. Can't wait to see your new creations when you are up and running again. I am dreaming of the BIG R someday.

About Me:Tell us a little about yourself
I am an Art Jeweler. I create wearable art, sculpture if you will, silver is my media of choice. My work is often strong in metaphors and the mystic. My Art is original. It is art you can wear with your blue jeans on. it is beauty captured in stunning metal forms.

I am the founder of Considerations. I created this space because I figured there were folks like me out there that were new to marketing on the internet but not new to marketing. And I figured new folks could learn from us old timers as well as the other way around. In a past life, I built a six millions dollar a year enterprise, by using magazine, catalog, and direct mail campaigns.

It is became obvious to me from the start that internet marketing is more about community than any other way of going about business in the past. And I love to teach.

Hello Everyone, Response required

Hi guys,

I know it has been a while since i posted here. Simply put I got overwhelmed with my new business and had to cut some corners somewhere. My contributions to this forum was one of the areas i could let go for a while.

I have been pretty busy. I have been making some money, I have been learning a ton about the ins and outs of Art marketing, internet marketing and Craft events like farmers markets and shows. It is very time consuming as many of you know. I have been able to pay bills fro… Continue

Energy

I am not known for being very political. I thought I would take a stand on an issue. The issue is energy. I took an environmental studies course in college in 1978. We talked about how to develop a hydrogen economy then. Little has happened along that front and we are talking 30 years latter. It is time. The economics are ripe for such a development.

Here is a speech given by Joe America. I can not say I totally agree with what he is saying. I am not sure that his economic model will balance ou… Continue

Hey Scott -

Seems like everyone has gotten really busy... How have you been? I hope business is still good for you.

I've been busy with various things - my plates are still not moving like I had hoped but I'm working on simplifying the concept to ease people past the learning curve. I've also taken some fantastic marketing courses and started a marketing blog for etsyians, bloggers, and other indie businesses at www.pamhawk.com This summer I'm hoping my day job schedule will be changed so I have Saturdays off - so I can start selling at craft shows around the NW. I never intended for my plates to sell online only, but more as an auxiliary market. It's about time I get these babies in front of people and start selling them in person. I think that's the only way people are going to "get" it.

Anyway, I hope you are well, having a lot of success with your jewelry, and have a busy spring/summer planned.

Keep in touch!

Hello...

Just a thought, but you might want to consider making the main page a bit more compact.

At the moment, you have to scroll down for about a mile to see the forum and latest activity...perhaps moving the latest activity to the column on the left might help a bit ? And maybe setting some things to show just the titles instead of the detailed views...and amending the order they appear in so new things are at the top...

It just kinda makes the whole experience of a community a bit smoother when you don't have to be scrolling for ages, or searching about for the latest news.

I can't wait to check out Pike Place and will look for the silversmith. I'll take pictures and post a bunch in one of my blogs.

As for listening to my music: brace yourself. And enjoy. It's a very eclectic mix.

Glad to hear the Farmers Market went well. Looking forward to reading more about that. Got pictures, too?

Off to bed for me. Up in 5 hours then 8 hours of driving ahead of me. Am I nuts? Probably.

Oh - forgot to ask:
We're having lunch at Pike Place tomorrow 6/12/08.
(...and yeah, we're going to check out the flying fish...)

Have you been there? Any recommendations (or warnings)?
After lunch, we're dropping the kiddo off at the airport and heading back home.

Laurie Anderson is so ahead of her time; I don't think many people 'get' her. I loved her performance art with the electric mouth violin thing.
And Michael Hedges, too. I first heard him when I was in Spain back in '87. There we go, I'm dating myself, with that statement. Didn't he pass away?
I checked out Zune and it's not what I'm looking for right now; instead I'm buying stuff via emusic and (paid) Limewire. If I show up at Zune, I'll definitely look you up and friend you there.

Wow and OMG! Laurie Anderson?? I think you are the only other person I know who loves her. (Or has even heard of her.) Ditto for Mike Oldfield's work, other than recognizing Tubular Bells from The Exorcist. Just discovered Zune through your widget, above. (Yes, I'm a dork behind the times, I guess. Surprised my 12 year old hasn't gotten into Zune yet.)

You know, looking at your music choices and photos of your art completes the picture for me. I totally see the personality of your work with this music in the background. They are a great fit for each other.

(Oh boy, and what a scary combo my music and plates make together. LOL)
