My name is Griselda Tello, I have been painting for over 40 years, my main source of inspiration has been landscapes, specializing in painting mystical redwood forests to visionary scenery.
Some have called my work Metaphysical Surrealism, many of those images can be found in the cover of books, art magazines or enhancing the web pages of writers and poets.
Although painting is my first love, assemblage and art dolls has become an essential spiritual practice. I love the process of sculpting with polymer clay and working with textiles, yarn, fibers and beading creating a context where magic begins. I've been inspired by many cultures where dolls were made symbolic of the sacred... full of meaning and creativity...here there is an element of reverence and solitude that guides me gently into that type of art. It is a form of meditation...a beautiful Spirit dance.

I know what you mean about the community on Etsy and elsewhere. I've really got nothing locally here that I would call 'inspiring'--galleries, classes, shows, etc. Everything is in other areas, and even then, not too great. Given this is New York and I'm about an hour from NYC you'd think some of it would spill over, but it doesn't.
About the shell pictures, thanks! You know what? I have "Gift from the Sea" somewhere here, and never thought of the similarity. I think the picture on the book is more overhead, bu tyes, I see the connection. I wanted to show sort of a 'flea's-eye view" with the cards. :-)
Sure, I'll add you to the street team list. I submit new member names into Etsy several at a time so if you're not on the Etsy profile, don't think you were overlooked; the list just hasn't been updated yet. I'll update the member list here on Considerations periodically and that will have the newest info.
BTW, I think your characters are great. My favorite is "Priestess of Isis & Bast"--she is just beautiful :-)

I love the last one, it is so dreamy and whimsical.
Hope your show went well!
