Profile Information

About Me:Tell us a little about yourself
My husband and I live in small town in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where I have my home studio. We live with our two dogs, April and Sophie and my horses Kit and Spirit.

After our children left the nest I looked for something to fill my never ending need to create. I discovered glass and metal and the amazing things that can be created with these two wonderful materials. The cool solid glass rods and how they become liquid when heated with my torch and then solid again when cooled, intrigued me. Turning wire and sheet metal into something beautiful is so satisfying. The design possibilities are endless and only limited by my imagination.

I continue to take classes to learn new techniques and love experimenting. Check back often, because you never know what fun things I might try next.

The lush scenery around Oregon has influenced my work. Earthy, organic and highly textured pieces reflect the great Northwest I dearly love.

I am a Self-Representing Artist Jewelry Designer (SRAJD #0678). When you purchase from an SRAJD member, you are buying directly from, and supporting the artist.

ORBS (Oregon Regional Beaders Society) is a diverse group of glass beadmaking artists that I am a member of. We gather to exchange information, ideas and knowledge, promote education and bask in the fellowship of other glass beadmakers. I am also a member of the Portland Etsy Street Team.

Thanks for stopping by and check back often to see my new creations. And please, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

I got accepted to my first juried show!

Well I applied for my first show...a juried show at the Sister's Harvest Festival Oct. 11-12. I got accepted!

Wow now what?... I am a little scared because it has an average attendance of 15,000.

I just purchased my canopy, folding six foot tables, some displays ( I am going to use my plastic carrying boxes for risers), I am checking into a vinyl banner for the valance of the canopy etc. and table cloths. I think I will have posters made of some of my best sellers too.

I need to do some resea… Continue

Universal Commercial for Hope

This will make you smile!

The video was downloaded to the web on Saturday, June 20, 2008. By Sunday, it had 1 million hits. By Thursday, it was everywhere — embedded on Facebook and MySpace pages and flooding email inboxes and translating into millions of viewers, thousands of comments, and official "gone viral" status.

But this one is no YouTube vanity trip. This one is different. This one feels important, necessary, and artistic; it's a concrete manifestation of the change that the world's l… Continue

Simple Brochure Maker

In our business it is nice to have something simple and quick to use to promote our shops.
This is an online program that I recommend to my students when they have to make a brochure for History class. It is called My Brochure Maker and here is the link:

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and nice comments Pam.

I had fun looking at your site to see what you do and bingo I finally got it!!!
What a wonderful, fun idea. Your creativity is amazing, to come up with this concept. I should have known you were a fellow Oregonian!

Thanks so much Sylvie.

I don't know if I would call it discovered, but it sure was nice to be recognized. We all pour our hearts into our creations and to think people like it as much as we do is a thrill!

I love the fact that you are self taught and create such beautiful things. Your crocheted cuffs are just great and so original.

Congrats, Char! It's always exciting to be "discovered" and featured like that. I'm not surprised either. Your work is wonderful!

I hear you about the chilly weather-I'm getting a bit tired of it too. Well, they say Springtime in Oregon is the longest season - beautiful though, I must say.

Hi Char, thanks for the kind comment. What part of Oregon are you in? I'm here in rainy/sunny (by the hour) Portland. Oh- and welcome - beautiful items you have!
